Founded in 1843 upon settlement by Talbot C. Dousman and three others, Ottawa Wisconsin was recognized then as a superb place in which to live.  It remains so today!

The Town covers 36 square miles and has a population of 3,905.

Please note that during inclement weather or other event, the Town Hall may close and that a note will be placed on the door.

Monday through Thursday  8:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Friday 8:00 a.m. - noon

There are only 2 ways to return your Absentee Ballot:

Hand deliver ONLY YOUR OWN BALLOT to the Clerk’s office

All Ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on election day

NO Drop Box will be available

For an item to be scheduled or placed on a Town of Ottawa Plan Commission agenda, ten (10) copies of the materials for all agenda items must be submitted to the Town Hall, in addition to the copy submitted to the Town Planner at her office in Waukesha.  In addition, for all agenda items the PROFESSIONAL SERVICES REIMBURSEMENT FORM must be completed and submitted, and for some items, a meeting with the Town Planner is required.  For items that require application with the Waukesha County Planning and Zoning Division, please contact the Planner of the Day:

The Town of Ottawa does not respond to anonymous complaints.  If you would like to make a complaint, we would like to know your name, address, telephone number, and what the complaint is regarding. You can call the Town Hall with that information, at (262) 965-3228, or you can email that information to and someone from the Town Board or Town staff will respond to you within one week.
